Petition updateJeremy Corbyn: Please #StopBrexit now.Jeremy Corbyn to convene an 'away day' to discuss #Brexit soon

Dear all, I expect you've already seen the news this weekend about Jeremy Corbyn's intention to hold discussions with colleagues very soon around the Labour position on Brexit: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/jan/27/jeremy-corbyn-pressure-change-of-direction-on-brexit (the piece reports both on this planned discussion, and on recent poll findings about significantly increased Labour voters' concerns re Brexit). For us this can only be good news, but obviously we need to keep up and increase the pressure to make it clear why we, the 13,000 signatories so far to our petition, are in no doubt that Brexit is a very bad idea indeed, of benefit only for a tiny minority and inevitably harmful to the vast majority of UK citizens. So... we have a special opportunity for the next few days to make our point before the Leader of the Opposition meets his colleagues for their discussions. It would be really helpful if you could all use just a few minutes of your time in that period to encourage others to join us in supporting our petition. And if you can manage as well to email Jeremy Corbyn and/or any other Shadow Ministers who are expected to attend*, explaining more about some of the reasons signatories have given in their comments here for demanding #StopBrexit, that would be very much appreciated too. Please do feel free to share any feedback you receive, via the Comments boxes on this webpage. Thank you again for your support, and for any more you can do to help #StopBrexit. Hilary #TellJeremyStopBrexit @Hilary4EU https://www.facebook.com/groups/525790270942902 * The Guardian reports that members of the shadow cabinet Brexit subcommittee expected to attend include the shadow chancellor John McDonnell, shadow Brexit secretary Keir Starmer, the shadow home secretary Emily Thornberry, and shadow home secretary Diane Abbott, plus the Shadow ministers responsible for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales... and you might also like to tell your own MP about the reasons you support this petition, if s/he is Labour.
