Join us Monday Night @ 7PM at the JCPS School Board Meeting

Dear JCPS
6 jun 2015
Look for the @Dear_JCPS team at the Board of Education meeting this Monday night at 7:00 pm. There will be several speakers there to inform the Board Members of factors that were overlooked when this decision was made so suddenly, without any stakeholder input. Wear black or royal blue t-shirts to show you're there to support the Challenger Learning Center. Plan to stick around until 9:00 pm or so, since they will be speaking at the end of the agenda. Meetings are held at 3332 Newberg Road, in the VanHoose Building/Stuart Auditorium.
If you can't join us Monday night, please call your Board Member and let them know you are concerned that this decision was made without stakeholder input and without all the facts. Ask them to reinstate funding for the Challenger Center immediately, with no loss of continuity, so that they can move forward with their summer fundraising plans, as well as booking missions for summer and next school year. Don't let the pipeline they've spent 4 years building run dry! They were on track to meet their goals and they just need one more year to be self sufficient. Let's keep this treasure alive and integrated into the curriculum so all students can learn STEM and have fun doing it!

The Challenger Learning Center is a district-wide educational resource that directly benefits students. Whether you are a taxpayer, a student, a parent, a teacher, an employer, an industry representative, a donor, or several of the above, the Board of Education and JCPS Administration need to hear from you about why you feel this program needs to continue at JCPS. Thank you!
