Petition updateStand with the Puyallup Tribe - No LNG Fracked Gas in the Salish Sea!No Means No! Demand PSE Stop Work Now!
Puyallup Water Warriors & Redefine Tacoma
Mar 27, 2018
No Means No! Today we demand that construction stop on Puget Sound Energy's Tacoma LNG refinery. Although it still lacks key permits, is in violation of the Medicine Creek Treaty, and faces ever-growing public outcry, PSE is building its massive fracked gas storage and refinery on the Tacoma Tideflats full speed ahead. PSE isn’t even gambling with its own money: shareholders expect residential customers like you and me to pay a huge chunk of the bill for a facility designed primarily to sell fracked gas as a transportation fuel to industrial customers for profit. The Puyallup Tribe stands in firm opposition to this dangerous and environmentally disastrous project. Many stand with them; petitions and resolutions against the project have been signed by the 14 Affiliated NW Treaty tribes, The City of Seattle, numerous Washington State democratic caucuses and legislative districts, the Washington State Democratic Central Committee, and over 53,000 concerned citizens. Governor Inslee's office has received copies of all the resolutions and petitions, yet has not given any public response. Governor Inslee needs to honor the treaties and put the health and safety of our communities before the interests of corporations. Please call or email Governor Inslee this week and demand that he issue an immediate Stop Work Order on the PSE LNG facility. Governor Inslee's phone and email: (360) 902–4111 or https://www.governor.wa.gov/contact/contact/send-gov-inslee-e-message Please share this email and keep sharing the Petition. When we fight together, we win. Yehow!
