The following is a request from the Manhattan Project for a Nuclear Free World.
Japan has plans to dump more than 1.28 million metric tons of radioactive wastewater into the Pacific from the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant starting from the spring of 2023. The dumping will continue for 3 decades or more. Last June, we have submitted an open letter to the government of Japan through the Japanese Consulate of New York, requesting Japan to halt its decision. The letter was endorsed by over 70 US groups as of June 5, 2021.
Due to a high demand to continue this campaign to request Japan to halt its dumping plan, we have decided to expand our invitation to groups, elected officials, and scholars worldwide as endorsers. If your group is interested in endorsing the open letter, please fill out the following Google Form by August 1, 2022.
