Dear supporters,
We are thrilled to announce that last Monday Central Coast Council agreed that the draft Greener Places Strategy (another name for an Urban Forest Strategy) could be placed on public exhibition. This means that very soon we the public will have an opportunity to review and quality-assure the first strategy to extend the tree canopy and green space, and to speak up in support of the strategy and the value and benefits of trees in our region.
We will post a link to the Council website when the Strategy becomes available.
Thank you everyone for your support. We are slowly seeing a cultural and policy shift here on the Central Coast, but there’s a lot left for us to do to ensure this Strategy results in higher retention rates for healthy mature trees, and widespread tree planting projects to replace the canopy lost over the last 5 decades.
