It's saying what you and I already know (but that no one seems to be doing anything about): the focus on bigger and more houses is starting to impact our health and the quality of life of our kids.
Let's talk about the link between happiness, development and open space. And not just any open spaces. Remember when open space involved simply opening a door? Yes, the good old backyard! What ever happened to those?
Most agree that kids are growing up surrounded by screens and technology and overly sheltered from risks and nature. Backyards used to provide opportunities to learn and explore, but bigger and more homes are replacing them at a rapid rate.
Mental health, physical health, and even problem-solving capabilities are enhanced by natural spaces - and in the case of kids - not just parks but space to play freely and roam unsupervised.
