
There was “plenty of trouble” at Youghal stadium on 27 March, with shocking falls for two greyhounds.

According to details of the race published on the Irish Greyhound Board website, one of the greyhounds - 2-year-old Afaneseventyfour - “did not finish”, suggesting injury, and possible death,
Greyhounds suffer and die at all of Ireland’s remaining greyhound tracks, including the Youghal track. Last year, 13 greyhounds sustained injuries at Youghal and 6 were killed by a track vet. Over the past four years at the track, 32 greyhounds were injured and 13 killed.
