New evidence of hare coursing abuses in Ireland (see previous update) obtained under a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, complements the already damning evidence brought to light by animal welfare people who have recorded numerous instances of hares being terrorized, mauled, tossed into the air, and otherwise injured or traumatized at these so-called sporting events that are attended and supported by some of Ireland's leading politicians. Among the most high profile Irish hare coursing fans is Phil Hogan, the present EU Agriculture Commissioner. Before entering politics, he helped to capture hares for coursing clubs and has publicly boasted of this involvement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLRkXOvbUPNNiGTsXVvyZdECvNZfKcdNzB&v=4LrFGNrL0rA
