On Tuesday Isaac Newton was scheduled to begin two days of court testimony where he had accused and association of women lawyers, an association of female journalists and others of slandering him for saying that he had molested students under his care. He was going to have to explain about the many women who in courtrooms had testified about those rapes. He did not show up to his appearance, for he had been called before a higher tribunal – one that could not be bribed, one that did not take years to reach a verdict, one that could not be deceived. The reported cause of death is that Isaac died after suffering a stroke brought on by high blood pressure.

Make no mistake. Isaac Newton is suffering eternal torment. He claimed to be operating a ministry to needy people for God’s glory, while instead he preyed upon the weakest and most vulnerable people he could find to satisfy his carnal lust, and using their stories to fleece Christians of their money and use it to enrich himself and pay off even the family members of his victims from speaking out. God did not ordain that Isaac suffer punishment for his crimes in this world. Instead, in His providence, He took him to a place of far greater punishment.

We pray that those who aided Isaac over the years would take this chance to consider their later end, and what they will say when called to give an account to Him who judges the living and the dead. Yet it is also a call for all the rest of us to examine ourselves as well. Hell is not just a place for serial rapists or those who aid and abet them. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matt. 7:22-23) The Bible teaches that many claim to be saved are not. They are deceiving themselves and have no part in Christ’s redemption. Let us each examine ourselves and beware lest we be judged just as Isaac has been judged.

“I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And justice for the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.” Psalm 140:12-13
