We would like to thank two special ladies Karen Edwards & Donna O’Halloran who have teamed up with us to support Damien’s Law. We have had a boost of over 400 new signatures thanks to their promotion. We are delighted to have these two courageous ladies onboard who have themselves gone through similar situations. Karen Edwards daughter Rebecca Godden-Edwards disappeared in January 2003 and it wasn’t until 2011 her remains were found when Christopher Halliwell took police to her burial site after he was arrested for the murder of Sian O’Callaghan in Swindon, Wiltshire. After a traumatic complex investigation, at eventual trial in 2016 he was sentenced to full life for Becky’s murder. Notwithstanding this trauma, Karen successfully had changes made to PACE and implemented the rollout of Police bodyworn cameras. In recent months she has been helping other parents with missing loved ones who could also potentially be victim’s of Christopher Halliwell. https://www.facebook.com/Justice-for-Becky-281440558625976/ Donna O’Halloran’s son David was 18yrs old when he went missing after a night out in January 2013. His body was not found until April the same year. A toxicology report after the post mortem revealed the rape drug GHB in her son’s system. Donna continues to fight for justice for David and has attempted to get changes made to guidelines.
