This case highlights the importance of ensuring that animal abusers are not given another opportunity to purchase another dog.

This is the story of Bella, who only last year had a rock tied to her and was thrown in the water to drown. Fortunately she was spotted by a dog walker and survived the ordeal.

However it is the result of the court case, which is the most disheartening, considering the cruel ness of the act.

The convicted was given a 12-month community order and told to pay an £80 fine, £32 victim surcharge, and £200 in costs.
The accused was also banned from keeping dogs for three years. The partners case was dropped as there wasn’t enough evidence.

Is this a deterrent? 12 month community order and the opportunity to be able to own another dog in three years?
