Hi All, l have today obtained the full report of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the Lekki Toll Gate shooting on 20th October 2020. The report which can be found in the Google Drive link below concluded that soldiers of the Nigerian Army and officers of the Nigerian Police fired live bullets at the innocent protesters gathered at the Toll Gate that day and then tried to cover up evidence of their crime against humanity by removing spent bullet cartridges from the scene.  The Panel of Inquiry went further to conclude that in context, what happened on that day was a massacre. Given the above, one  hopes that the International Criminal Court will now live up to its duties and responsibilities under the Treaty of Rome by bringing the perpetrators of this heinous crime against humanity to justice. Anything short of that would mean that the ICC itself condones and encourages crimes against humanity to be committed with impunity.
