Jul 4, 2026
Dear Neighbors and Supporters,
As we celebrate 250 years of American independence this weekend, it feels fitting to also celebrate the power of community voice right here in Bridgewater. Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared our petition to install multi-way stop signs on Bogart Drive — your support is making a real difference.
Here are some important updates:
1. Media Coverage
Our petition was recently covered in local media, helping raise broader awareness of the traffic safety concerns on Bogart Drive and bringing more attention to our request for action.
2. Township Council Discussion
Traffic conditions on Bogart Drive were formally discussed at the Bridgewater Township Council meeting held on June 25th, 2026. This is a meaningful step forward, showing that our concerns are being heard at the township level.
3. Recent Accident Near Bogart Drive
Unfortunately, this issue remains urgent. A serious accident recently occurred on Route 28 at the intersection with the ramp from Route 22, just 400 feet from Bogart Drive. Traffic safety in this area continues to be a real and pressing concern. (See attached photo from the scene.)
These incidents underscore exactly why we started this petition — and why continued advocacy matters.
One More Community Issue Worth Your Attention
Separately, many of you may also be following the effort to stop a proposed self-storage facility at Bridgewater that would demolish Melick’s Farmstand. A final public meeting on this issue is scheduled for July 14th. You can learn more and get involved here: https://facebook.com/events/s/bridgewater-zoning-board-meeti/1496024585174009/
Thank you again for standing with your neighbors on these important local issues. Please continue to share the petition and stay engaged as we push for real safety improvements on Bogart Drive.
Warm regards
