It's now been almost 4 months since my investigation concluded. I envisaged a grand finale, drum roll to mark me finally getting off this awful rollercoaster, finally it was over. But it appears that was just the first ride, now there's the roundabouts to contend with...... To date there has been initial investigation with West Mercia, passed to Gloucestershire, passed to IPCC back to Gloucestershire, on to Wiltshire, back to IPCC for Independent Inquiry halted for 1 year whilst leak in Gloucestershire which could potentially have compromised investigation investigated. Running alongside IPCC Inquiry a criminal investigation into sexual abuse but promptly stopped when West Mercia identified me to other victims. Robbing those victims of opportunity to speak. They had reported the perpetrator to Wiltshire Police on four occasions and yet a statement is yet to be taken and the records have been "lost". Wiltshire have investigated their role and highlighted a number of failings, no apology to any victims that would be a step too far..... So this week another referral from IPCC after they upheld my complaint against Wiltshire for lack of safeguarding as it appears they always knew of his offending. Worst still in one victim report from Wiltshire it acknowledged a list of failings, names of officers etc. Yet in mine ( even though same officers were the authors of both reports, one officer head of Professional Standards ) that suddenly they do not know who these officers are. So we begin a new investigation. Personally I think this is wholly inappropriate. A force who have failed to protect, investigate and record a known peadophile being asked once again to look at their own actions. Recipe for disaster if you ask me. How can they be impartial, open minded, fair? Gloucestershire Police at the request of IPCC and victims finally begin an investigation into the sexual crimes. Some 4 years after their original investigation. It's a continuous roundabout. I met some time ago with John Campion Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia who eloquently described this as a game of "pass the shitty stick". No one wants to be left holding said stick but yet they all have their own shit on it. 3 Forces, Wiltshire, West Mercia and Gloucestershire have their hands all over this case in various guises. Yet the stark reality is at the very heart you all failed to protect and investigate. The very core of any police forces work.
