Our Govt Survey Results are in! Are you underwhelmed? We are!

Good Morning The results are in and they aren’t pretty! You might recall that in early September, we sent out a package asking ALL Provincial elected representatives of ALL parties AND the Mayors and Councillors from Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Red Deer for their opinion on our 25 condo related Improvement Ideas – or to let us know if they had better ideas than what we have generated! Out of 162 people, we heard from three (3) – yes, 3 - representatives: Minister Stephanie McLean, Minister Brandy Payne, and Alberta Liberal Opposition Leader, Dr. David Swann. The McLean and Payne responses were “non-response responses” as they didn’t answer our questions or provide opinions on our ideas. Liberal Opposition Leader Dr. Swann provided, by far, the most credible response. He wrote to Minister McLean and supported our efforts and for that we are most grateful and appreciative. The original “send” package with the cover letter, questionnaire and latest list of our Improvement Ideas; the “results” package listing all the names of people who received our original request and who did, or did not, respond; and the McLean, Payne and Swann letters are on our website in the documents tab. Check them out. If your MLA didn’t respond why not drop them a note and ask them why they didn’t respond. After all, we pay their salaries and perks and deserve to know their opinion on our ideas AND why they didn’t respond. You can put money on the fact we’ll be remembering the names of the non-responders in the next election as it’s pretty clear they are not willing to support us in improving the current incomplete, substandard, costly and punishing to condo owners … Alberta condo legislation.
