At the school board meeting on November 18th the petition to remove the superintendent in Dickenson County has been added to the agenda for the meeting. A vote will be held at this meeting to determine the superintendent’s future with our school system. Each vote from our board members will determine if they are for the children of this county or the superintendent. This board has a job to do and now is the time for them to do it. Board members can be held accountable, they are elected officials of this county and their respective districts. All community members need to be present at this meeting. The meeting starts at 5 but you can show up after 5, it will last a couple hours. The main thing is to show up whether you speak at the meeting or not. Show up and hold the school system accountable for our children while they are in their care during the school day. No parent should be scared to send their children to our schools. No child should be scared of being harmed or just scared to go to school in general. Now is time for a change for our children, teachers and staff at the schools in Dickenson County. We must stick together for the betterment for our children.
