On Thursday 12th Dec,2024 The Local Councillor for Troup Ward - Richard Meynard made the following announcement on the Local Facebook Pages - "Today, I have been informed that the requested zebra pedestrian crossing for Duff street, Macduff will be put onto the 2025/2026 budget for implementation."

So although this extremely dangerous game of School Children vs Fast Moving Road Traffic is to continue in the meantime it is looking very much like that there is going to now be a Crossing Installed at Macduff Primary.

Clearly we cannot fully declare a Victory for Common Sense yet until we actually see a Crossing being Installed and operational within the School Zone. But by this latest announcement we can at least see some encouraging signs that this Dangerous Situation will be addressed in the months ahead.

Counting the traffic at the school on 2 evenings between 3 - 3:10pm I counted over 70 vehicles both times passing through the School Zone. The Traffic has increased dramatically since the New Aldi Store opened.

In the meantime please Keep asking Friends and Family to Sign the Petition and also Keep Sharing .We must continue until we can see that Macduff Primary Children finally have a Safe Means of Crossing this increasingly busy road.
