Barriers to prevent suicides will be built sooner than expected on the overpass connecting highways 23 and 118 in Moorpark, according to the California Department of Transportation.

Construction of the $7.5 million project on the Arroyo Simi Overhead bridges is now expected to start in spring 2025 and finish that fall, Caltrans spokesman Michael Comeaux said last week in an email. There are two bridges, one for each direction of traffic.
