I hope everyone is outside enjoying the sunshine! This update is to offer my sincere thanks to all 309 of you, who have shown your support for improving the plight of Calgary's feral domestic rabbits, by bravely signing this petition to the Honourable Doug Schweitzer.
We only need 191 more signatures to reach 500. Do you think we can give this one more try? ;-) Fyi, the petition has been viewed 498 times and been shared 105 times. It was last signed six hours ago. Before that, it was signed one week ago.
The accompanying photo is of the Bobcat who hangs out at Repsol Sport Centre and gets a midnight snack out of the Lindsay Park feral rabbit herd. I encountered him (or her) the night of May 13th, at exactly 11:53PM. I have several more photos, however, am only able to share one here. Domestic rabbits that have been dumped outdoors do not deserve to be his meal! Currently, however, it is the Calgary Humane Society's belief that domestic rabbits dumped outside are to be considered wildlife.
Please find it in your heart of hearts to passionately hunt down people who love and respect the humble bunny rabbit, and ask them to sign our petition? We are the Change-Makers, you and I.
