Please note, tonight at 5:21 we received an 11/7 email from Jillian Swan noting that there will now be a 2024 Budget Q&A meeting on Monday Nov 27th at 7:30 BY ZOOM. (I have emailed a request that we also have an in-person option and noted that the Abington Library has a community room.)
This email from Jillian requests that any questions regarding the 2024 Budget and Special Assessment be emailed to jillian.swann@associamidatlantic.com.
From speaking to neighbors some of the starter questions I've heard include:
- Why do we have a $1600 special assessment for "balancing expenses"? Special assessments have been used for infrastructure repairs -- like the roofs.
- Are we adequately funded? If not, why not? If not, what is the plan?
- What is the 5 year plan of expenses and maintenance items? And what does this mean for a 5 year projection of condo fee increases and special assessments? We want a clear and straightforward plan and annual updates. No more moving targets (like the mysterious snow removal money and money moving between accounts)
- The last reserve study was conducted in 2018 -- it is supposed to be conducted every couple of years. This needs to be reinstated.
