Dear supporters,

Our petition to ban the use of real firearms on set and demand better crew working conditions is about to reach a major mile-stone of having 100,000 signatures.

Please continue to spread the word and demand for Hollywood studios to address this issue. Senator Dave Cortese has kept his word and is really trying to get a law passed. Let’s give him credit. He has released a statement which reads:

“Good news, our legislative counsel has already provided an internal draft of our “no ammunition/firearms” bill. In the future, as per our Senate process, the bill will be in print for public review”.

I was too hard on him yesterday because I felt he went back on his word to release the bill for the public to view, but now I’ve realized this is how slow things move in politics. It’s a process. January 3rd he will be introducing the bill to the Senate. Let’s give him time to get his ducks in order without rushing to judgement. I have a feeling he will get this bill passed. Good job, Senator Cortese.

Now we must focus on bettering the working conditions for crew on these film sets. This tragedy wouldn’t have happened if the crew didn’t walk off set and replaced with inexperienced film school students. Let’s wake the industry up with our voices!
