Thanks again for all of the support!

We just got our 905th signature for the petition!

This morning the local public radio station (KQED) featured a discussion about the closure of Laguna Honda Hospital and this forced relocation.   The SFDPH is doing all they can with regards to the recertification, but they need public support (and pressure) to change the plans for relocating these vulnerable residents.  That's what this petition is all about.

I was a caller into the show and, fortunately, after an SF Examiner reporter (Sydney Johnson) outlined the intent of this petition.  I focused on a critical topic that is a terrifying outcome of this forced relocation:  Transfer Trauma.

We are aware of 2 people that have recently died after being transferred from LHH.   We hope that CMS will start taking very seriously their decision to clear out all residents from LHH before mid-September.   I plan to track as many incidents as possible and use it to pressure Sec. Becerra and the CMS administration to stop this forced relocation.

Please pass along the survey! Let's get past 1000!

Check back with this page where KQED will post the link to the audio.  It might take another day.  https://www.kqed.org/forum/2010101889843/laguna-honda-hospital-has-60-days-to-move-over-600-patients-before-it-shuts-down-its-only-placed-58-so-far
