City Council Voted No to The Tower at this site.

After eight months of opposition, on June 1 2026, the Town of Essex Council voted unanimously to provide municipal non-concurrence to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) regarding the proposed Telus telecommunications tower on Ferriss Road in Harrow. Thank you for your support!

The selected site was discouraged by the Town’s Radio & Telecommunications Policy and did not meet the minimum setback requirement for residentially zoned properties. In addition, the proposed facility was not a monopole design, as preferred by policy and did not implement any scaling techniques due to the proposed height. 

The decision followed heavy local resident pushback and reflected community concerns about the towers close proximity to residential, and a lack of early consultation.
