Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. Over the past few days we have had TWO court hearings regarding the case associated with our foster son (a total of 9 hours). We are tired!

So much has happened this week. Birthmother gave birth to the next baby who was born on 1/18 (10months younger than our foster son). She had him a day before the 1/19 hearing. Obviously she was not able to make it to court. We immediately got paperwork drawn to adopt this child, however child services has already stepped in and said they are sending the 2-Day old baby to Texas with his half-sibling as soon as possible.

Our Foster Son is still with us until we get more direction from the Magistrate. He really saw our position and we are truly thankful he gave us an opportunity to speak. It was intense! There were a lot of tears shedded in the courtroom these past two days. We truly felt like we were on trial for murder or something. Never thought in a million years we would be attacked like this for getting an attorney and using documents the birthmother filed for us to obtain permanent custody.

When the court hearing ended on today, the Magistrate stated that he needed time to sit and process all that has been discussed and will have a decision to us within a week.

Now you all would think this is a decision for PERMANENT CUSTODY, correct? Nope

Since we are “only” Foster Parents we have to have the magistrate agree that we are essential parties to the case. This is a new process in which foster parents now have a chance at with particular cases.

Once he approves us (we will know in one week) THEN we will have legal rights to file for PERMANENT CUSTODY of our foster son. Which is MORE court dates.

We ask that you continue to pray for us. This is such a long drawn out process. It’s like they are waiting on someone to just give up.

However, we have come too far to stop now!! The Fight Continues…

Thank you again!
