First of all, I would like to thank all the participants and media person who have shown their solidarity and became part of this protest by taking out time from their busy schedule because of your participation and support, WE were able to make this protest a BIG SUCCESS.
More than 500 responsible residents from our locality came together on a single platform for a serious cause “RIGHT TO BREATHE CLEAN AIR” and to make our lives better and free from harmful impact of hazardous gases and obnoxious smell from this plant.
Our efforts have resulted in BBMP’s attention and acknowledgement of the fact that this plant is producing harmful gases and pungent smell as well as they have given written assurance to contain this smell in 10 days. Apart from this they have promised to install Air Quality Index and Odour measuring devices at main gate of SWM Plant. In addition, we have got commitment from them for Cauvery water pipeline and development of our locality like construction of roads, drainage etc.
Once again THANKS to all and looking forward for similar support and encouragement in future as well.
