Let's shine a national spotlight on this devastation. It was announced on April 20th Brevard County is getting $800,000 to begin efforts to clean up the lagoon. This is a start, but it doesn't tackle the source of the issues which created this disaster. Without accountability, what stops this tragedy from happening again? Throwing money at the problem is not enough. This only kicks the can down the road. We need real change. If America knows Rick Scott recklessly ignored the devastation of our lagoon this long, he he will be forced to act. Today he does not believe the state of our lagoon warrants a state an emergency, and the Brevard County continues to fight for real long term solutions. Trudie Infantini, a Brevard County Commissioner has tried to call a state of emergency, but to date has not been successful.
