Good afternoon all, Derek Ingram a former North Yorkshire bobby, stalwart supporter and all round smashing chap - left this message on my update of the 17th October. “Go for it Cathryn, Thinking of you and your campaign as always. My health is failing further and I am now permanently ventilated but with my last breath I will support you and your relentless hard work. Good luck Cathryn and all of your supporters. Good luck one and all.” Some of you will have already seen it, but I didn't want anyone to miss Derek's message and I know that he will get a kick out of being featured in an update about a campaign that means so much to him. Derek's message has given me just the 'kick up the backside' that I needed – no matter how hard campaigning feels at times we are a team and the care that we have for one another will always see us through. I also wanted to let you know that I have received this letter from WMP Chief Constable dated 9th October and posted on the 16th: “Dear Cathryn, Thank you for your letter. It was very nice to meet you. I am supportive of your campaign. I will ask James Hurley, The National Pension lead, for a discussion on the matter to see what part the service played in this issue. I shall reply to you in more detail when I have more information to hand. Yours sincerely, Dave Thompson Chief Constable” I have now sent the Chief Constable pension figures that we received in reply to Freedom of Information requests submitted by Mick Hume PFEW and police widow Jo Williams – many thanks to them for their hard work and patience. My last word is for a lovely lady called Molly – she is Derek's nurse and she very kindly reads emails to him and writes down his replies when he is not feeling too good – many thanks to you Molly for helping us to keep in touch with a much valued member of our team.
