From May 28-June 1, the NCORE conference was held in Honolulu.  Over 5,500 Higher Education educators participated in discussions about equity and more.  While on O`ahu, they learned about the issues facing the people of Hawai`i and what they could do upon returning to their own spaces.  Mauna Kea Education and Awareness was there sharing about Mauna Kea and our petition received many signatures.  We met a lot of maunamazing folks working hard in their communities.  Aunty Pua Case was honored with the Suzan Shown Harjo award which is an annual recognition of the work of an individual or organization whose actions have been transformational on social justice issues of race, ethnicity, and sovereignty at the systemic level by affecting laws, policies, organizational structures, and community practices.
