I have had some great progress on the petition to get AED locations registered with Google and Apple Maps. Here are some examples of what has happened.

  • I have had an email communications with a person and his manager at Google Maps. (!!!!!!) He likes the idea of what we are doing. They said they will get back with me. I may get a message tomorrow; or I may never hear from them again.
  • The news story about the petition on CBS11 here in Dallas (see previous update) got a lot of people to learn about the petition. We are about to pass the 10,000 sign up threshold!
  • Julie and I also had a great conversation with the head of a national Sudden Cardiac Arrest organization. We'll be working together on pushing this initiative. Once we get the the kids off to school at the end of the month, we will be creating a local chapter. Having a non-profit status should help us working with the charity/community departments of Google and Apple.
  • Additionally, I had a great conversation with the person who developed an integration of AED locations with EMS 911 systems.

So we are still looking for that elusive person at Google Maps and Apple Maps. We do have that initial communication with Google Maps, but nothing with Apple Maps.

**If you know anyone at Google or Apple, please let me know!**

If you don't know someone directly, please post the ORIGINAL posting on your social media. Thanks so much!

Greg and Julie Coon
