See what happened only weeks later. Hopes about the new functions in IOS 11 addressing distracted drivers with the new Do Not Disturb feature were quickly dashed. It feels like Apple were thinking "we better look like we are doing something", rather than actually enabling real behaviour change. The new feature is unlikely to be used by anyone. Why? a) because you have to "opt-in" to use it, and b) because even if you you are connected to your car via bluetooth all inbound calls/messages are blocked (no notifications). Apple & Google, you can do much better to help save the lives of our children, family, friends and loved ones who are injured and killed every day from drivers distracted by their mobile phones - the phones you have designed!
