The word on the grapevine is that NCV Ltd have submitted a planning application for housing on Govan Graving Docks and it will be on the council planning portal when it has been validated - and open for public comments in January.

CDPI will issue detailed guidance on how to object, in line with material planning considerations, once we've had a chance to review the application documents.

We've also learned that despite the publicity about 80% of the site passing into community ownership (as a condition of investment from the Scottish Government Vacant and Derelict Land Fund), there is in reality no contractual agreement obliging NCV to hand over the land.

Further we understand that NCV will hand over the land - only if and after they are granted planning consent for housing on the remaining 20% (and after the Scottish Government funded works have been completed).

We see no evidence of any robust and transparent process of accountability of the process. Unfortunately some of the very people who should be holding NCV to account on behalf of the community seem instead to be protecting them from scrutiny.

We won the battle against the planning application in 2018 but the war to save to docks still isn't over!
