The SNP is fully behind the Votes at 16 campaign. We believe that the right to voteshould be extended to all 16 & 17 year olds across the UK. The SNP has already lowered the voting age to 16 for all Scottish elections and referendums. Even those who opposed the extension of the franchise before the 2014 independence referendum now recognise the level of interest and political engagement amongst those aged 16-18.
