Great News Everyone! Thank you for all your help and support in our fight against Piedmont Lithium and a proposed 500' deep 2,500 acre open pit mine operation in our back yard in beautiful rural Gaston County that would impact hundreds of generational farm families, wildlife, our water, and the environment. As we have demonstrated in past posts, there are many many newer cleaner non destructive and environmentally friendly technologies by other companies that can be used elsewhere in the US to build our domestic lithium resources. Your voices and emails are being heard by the Gaston County Commissioners and we really appreciate the nearly 2,000 folks that have signed our petition. Please share and repost as we have a goal to get 5,000 signatures in the next 60 days while under this moratorium.
Friday night Gaston County Commissioners called an emergency meeting to unanimously vote for a temporary halt to the proposed mining activities for the next two months: "Commissioners in Gaston County, west of Charlotte, unanimously approved a resolution that says the company "cannot be trusted without adequate local controls to protect the health, safety and welfare" of citizens."
