This is a CRITICAL time. We need at least FIVE council votes against the county executive cuts in order to overturn them. Call or email your councilperson and spread the word. County Executive Brenton Davis proposes cuts to the Library, the Human Relations Commission and Pleasant Ridge Manor among other human services.

It is very important that you call or email and show up for the special County Council Meeting on Monday 12 18 at 6:00 at the Erie County Court House on 6th Street (arrive by 5:45) to attend. You can speak for 3 minutes or just sit and be supportive if public speaking is not for you. But your emails, calls and presence matter! The Library cuts not only affect the Blasco Library, they will negatively impact all the branch and independent libraries they service.

Council offices: 814-451-6303
And especially:
Charlie Bayle: cbayle@eriecountypa.gov (Dr. Blasco lived in Charlie's district). The Edinboro Branch Library is in Charlie's district.
Ellen Schauerman: eschauerman@eriecountypa.gov (the Lincoln Library in Fairview is in her district)
Tom Spagel: tspagel@eriecountypa.gov Tom has already said that HIS family doesn't use the Library, but he needs to know that others in his district DO!
His district is Erie and Millcreek-- so both the Millcreek Branch AND the Blasco Library.
