Update No 1 Hi All, First of all thankyou for your support. The petition is "slowly" gaining supporters. This is the first petition I have initiated and I will never ask for $ donations or any financial contribution from anyone. It is in the collective efforts, intent and strategic thinking from all of us that this petition will generate its power. I would like everyone to think of this petition as “Your” & “Our” petition to voice the people’s demands that the Australian Government fulfil its obligation to uphold and protect the rights of an Australian Citizen who has not been charged with any crime. Of course the underlying issues that underline this whole case are much broader, however after intricately following the case from its inception and examining the most effective leverage point to apply pressure it became obvious that the involvement of the Government Australia and in particular the Department of Foreign Affairs has fallen well short of what Australians or people of any nation would naturally expect of their government. The petition itself and with your help passed 250 signatures today and petition is gaining about 2 -3 an hour. That's nothing great, but it is growing and people are Sharing and Retweeting it. Remember this petition is and will remain financially unsponsored. I have only put this out on Facebook and Twitter at his stage, if anyone has other avenues (Instagram, etc. ) to access more expansive circles of contacts please feel free. An update on the health of Julian Assange is difficult to gain as the only outsider that has any contact with him is his intermittent contact with his lawyer Jennifer Robinson. Assange now has been subjected to 6 years arbitrary detention plus now 110 days of torturous solitary confinement. Communication jamming technology has been deployed in the Ecuadorian Embassy, so even if a phone is snuck in it will be rendered useless. Those are the extent of the "Powers at be" focus to gag Julian Assange, as well as a ring of police deployed around the Ecuadorian Embassy 24/7 for the past 6 + years. Personally, I am still learning and please this topic and petition is completely open to your information, communication and updates. Myself, I have studied and followed the case now since it began, I have attended group information sessions, attended public vigils to free Julian Assange and organised a small one myself and believe I have a good and independent understanding of "What" happened, "How" it happened, my opinion of "Why" it is happening and the all-important question of "When" can Julian Assange's freedom be returned. I will supply bits and pieces of information as relevant via these updates, but in the meantime if anyone has information, suggestions or would like to get an understanding on a point of clarification as I understand matters, please feel free to message me, comment herein or on my posts.
