Our century has seen a continuation of human behavior that has greatly impacted wildlife. Loss of habitat and heavy poaching to murder elephants for their ivory tusks, together with the blatant disregard by wealthy hunters for the lives of these beautiful beings, have all contributed to their rapid decline. We have seen countless newstories about elephants being hunted, chained and abused, made to perform in circuses or do other work. Ruperta, the elephant starving at a zoo in Venezuela, is one example of the neglect and suffering we as a species have inflicted upon elephants. If you care for these beautiful animals, who mourn their dead just like we do, who protect and love their young just like we do, then sign this petition and find ways of getting involved to save them from extinction. This planet belongs to Ruperta, too. This planet belongs to all elephants and all wildlife, too. If we do not do something to protect wildlife, to protect our planet, and to help each other live in peace, then our children and grand children will inherit a lonely planet full of cement and garbage. Stand up! Sign for Ruperta! Read the following basic facts about elephants and consider donating to organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund (worldwildlife.org). Thank you for reading this update. ¡Fuerza y Fe, Venezuela!
