When the government shuts down, that’s not “negotiating” — that’s walking out on the job. If any of us did that, we’d be fired on the spot.
While politicians bicker, families are starving. SNAP benefits are being cut, veterans are homeless, and children go to bed hungry in the richest nation on Earth. This isn’t because people are lazy — it’s because greed has eaten the heart out of our country.
Corporations rake in billions, pay poverty wages, and rely on taxpayers to cover the gap through food stamps and aid programs. Then the same politicians who enable that greed have the nerve to call struggling Americans “lazy.”
No. The lazy ones are the ones who sat by and did nothing to fix this. The ones who clocked in to government and clocked out of humanity.
It’s time we, the people, say what every fed-up citizen already feels: You’re fired.
