I started playing Civilization back in 2005, when it was Civilization IV, and I always had a dream to see my country, Ukraine, represented. Partially because it's always fun to play out history that never was, but mostly because Civilization is a great educational tool, something you can recommend to people who want to learn about your country and nation without being obnoxiously academic or dry. Something you can use as a conversation starter, or a source of interesting trivia and facts not only about history, but national cousine, mentality etc.

Now with Civilization VI on the rise I belive Ukraine have all chances to be added to the game as a playable nation, because of its rich history and trace it left in Europe's heritage. Spanning thousands of years of history, from Trypillian culture, to Kievan Rus, one of the largest and most culturally advanced European states of the time; to Zaporozhian Sich, that fended its borders against three mighty empires, birthed one of the first democratic Constitutions and was home to acclaimed Cossacks; to modern Ukraine, biggest country in Europe, a bursting technological and cultural center. Home to a host of great leaders, like Volodymyr the Great and Yaroslav the Wise back in the medieval times, or Mykhailo Hrushevsky and Symon Petliura at the beggining of the XX century, and a pletora of cultural influencers, like Taras Shevchenko, Ivan Franko or Lesia Ukrainka, Ukraine has all accounts covered to be included into the game.

If we can see the inclusion of great nations like Poland and Macedon, why not make Ukraine next?
