Wrongful convictions in the United States Military are things no one likes to talk about. As a result, this fundamental problem is often swept under the rug and ignored. When a person is accused of, charged with, and wrongfully convicted of a crime they did not commit, their entire life turns upside-down. Whatever the consequences, their loved ones are forced to suffer with them. False sexual assault allegations are particularly troubling. Sexual assault is a serious issue that should never be taken lightly, and yet some people will falsely accuse others of assaulting them. Although false sexual assault allegations appear to be somewhat rare in general, they are much more prevalent in the military.
