I turned 18 and already had my own savings account to cash checks at wachovia since I started working back when I was legal age to work then on my 18th birthday opened a self directed portfolio account, a student checking account and already had an appointment for meps with the recruiter for the following week after I had turned 18. i also cosigned an over five year old auto loan of my grandmothers to help my credit score. I had took the money i had saved from working and bought stocks before going to basic. I took enough money to buy what I needed in basic I put my car insurance on hold and got my title for my car mailed to me in basic after setting up auto payments, I got a military star card in basic to help build my credit and a credit card at my bank. After basic and while in ait I applied for a job as a well tender in southwest va.
