Well Larmada, we’ve got ourselves a bit of a good-news/bad-news situation…
The bad news? Word from the top is that there will be no official 3rd Night of WOX. We fought a long, hard battle and pulled in an impressive 218 signatures on this year’s petition. That’s over 100 more than last year, so a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who signed and helped spread the good word. We would be nothing without you, our mighty Larmada members. If running this page, meeting so many of you at festivals and local shows, and attending ten years’ worth of WOX has taught us anything, it’s that The Lawrence Arms have one helluva dedicated fan base!
So what’s the good news?
Even if this year’s petition didn’t stick the landing, The Officially Unofficial Larmada has heard your wishes for more WOX-weekend fun. So we’ve taken the reins to make our OWN Thursday-night event to kick off the War on Saint Nick and his lame-ass elves.
EVENT DETAILS:
We’ll be having a Larmada Thursday-night PRE-WOX party on December 4th at 8:00 PM at Chicago’s very own L&L Tavern on 3207 N. Clark Street. (Made famous by alleged serial-killer patrons and that one Larry Arms song from 1999!)
All are invited (even if you’re not attending the Metro WOX shows)! Just remember it’s a CASH-ONLY establishment, and to always tip your bartenders. Besides, what else are ya gonna do? Stay Home Alone? Get eaten by Krampus? Wait for the Polar Express?
Come join our Boatless Booze Cruise, drink Malört, and be merry while we play shitty punk songs on the jukebox to kick off this Nightmare Before Christmas!
