There’s a severe lack of parkland in this area around St. Clair West/Oakwood and it has one of the worst public park deficits in Toronto. The problem is so serious that it has become a livability and safety issue, with kids, dogs, teens and adults all trying to use the same small spaces.
Adding your voice to the cause has definitely helped in our meetings with our local councillor’s office on this issue - the councillor says it is one of her priorities. In addition, the Northcliffe Village Residents' association that represents the area near the park regularly meets with local leaders, BIAs and other residents associations to plan next steps.
