Restricting dogs from beaches also restricts our own health!!! Let's relax those restrictions!

Dear fellow dog owners/lovers/walkers Overnight this petition hit 400 supporters. That's an achievement but it's not enough to convince Council to relax the time restrictions on dog friendly beaches in summer......YET. Individual letters written by you, sharing your own personal story IS starting to trickle down and the Eurobodalla Shire Council (ESC) is now seeing the human element with regard to restrictions of dogs from beaches in the warmer months. Does walking on the beach help you manage your weight, diabetes, arthritis, heart problem, loneliness, stress? If so, we desperately need YOU to share YOUR personal story with Council. You see, Council think this restriction of dogs on beaches in summer is just about dogs!!! To some extent they are right, but it's FAR MORE about OUR OWN physical and mental wellbeing. It's the therapeutic benefits of walking the dog on the beach that keeps us health and happy. It's sharing that walk with a friend and often it's about making new friends too. So today, please, please, please find 5 minutes to write a quick email to our Mayor and the Councillors (and the General Manager) and tell them that when they restrict you from walking your dog on the beach between 9am and 5pm for 6 very long months of the year, they are also restricting YOUR opportunity to improve your health and that's just on!
