Hello, as you may or may not know I attended P&C meeting yesterday where the school Principal addressed the lack of OSCH at our school. Sadly after a long power point  presentation it all still ended up with No OSCH as the answer.

Due to the time of the meeting we gidn't get as many people as hoped but definitely some frustrated parents spoke their minds and offered ideas.

Principal talked alot about reasons why there was no osh, here are some

Due to space, being a government owned school the government has to approve any new builds as there is not a space to hold OSCH.

The hall is in use all the time and is therefore not available to use, there is also an issue with not enough toilets in there.

She told us she had brokered local outside services to do pick up and drop offs

They asked the local C&K kindy if that could be used, No

One parent suggested what about vacation cares, Principal was open to this as the hall is not in use and had not thought about vacation care as OSHC was the hot topic.

An OSCH provider came to the school to look at a suggested space but again did not meet requirements.

They asked the local High School if we could use their free-standing hall. No.

This was not the result we hoped for and while she addressed the petition and said could appreciate the idea of it she also was dismissive (in my opinion) about it, saying all 600 were not from the school.
