Our dear community member Alec is about to become a father. As he prepares himself to dive into this new chapter, a group of us in Twitch, appreciate and enjoy his unique flair in moderating our online space. His leave therefore leaves a gap that only he can fill.

We acknowledge and respect Alec's need for a two-month leave, crucial for the nurturing of his newborn child. Due to the unavailability of paternity leave statistics on a community level, the Society of Human Resource Management data reveals that only 29% of organizations offer any form of paid paternity leave. Therefore, Alec's hiatus isn't merely personal. It mirrors a broader societal issue, underscoring the delineation between personal time and commitment towards community building.

Considering the immense value Alec brings to this platform, his absence is set to result in a void. The predetermined cycle of mod duties needs to keep spinning, and Alec’s forthcoming new journey of parenthood could provide the perfect break needed for that rotation.
