Hello there!  Thank you for signing our digital petition for a Services Australia agency in Euroa.  Barb and I have also been out on the street in front of Burtons asking people to sign a paper version of the petition and even though we have only done that on four occasions, we have managed to gather 853 signatures! 

People were so enthusiastic!  When we asked them to sign, some were hesitant because they didn't know what it was about and then when we explained what we were trying to do, they all said "Absolutely!  Where do I sign?"

The digital petition has not been quite so successful yet with just 34 signatures, but that gives a total of 887.

Now that the dust is settling after the election, I will be getting back in touch with Helen Haines' office (independent federal member for Indi), as they were the ones who suggested we do the petition to show evidence of the need in our community.  Helen's assistant said that they would forward the petition with a letter from Helen in support of our proposal, to the new Minister for Social Services (who is Tanya Plibersek).

So, I thought I might give the digital petition one last push and see if we can take the total to over 900 signatures before I send it to Helen Haines.  Do you think you might be able to share the petition with some of your friends and colleagues over the next few days and ask them to sign?

Again, thanks for your help with this campaign.  I'm still very optimistic, with the help of the petition, that we might be successful!
