There we fireworks last night at the FAMPO meeting when Regional Cooperation was mentioned about the River Crossing.
Stafford Supervisor Bohmke speaks between 1:45:25 to 1:48:40
Bohmke and Vanuch speak at 2:15:00.
Bohmke explains about a By-right 2007 rezoning in Stafford that is in the process of being developed that will ultimately block option A.
Vanuch " You Guy's are factitiously trying to route it (River Crossing) to option A and exempt options B, C and D, because you want what is best for you and you alone. When you talk about regional cooperation and coordination you should absolutely be mapping those options out."
Councilman Gerlach "Don't play this two-faced game with me, Crystal we are all looking out for ourselves."
Vanuch "It's highly inappropriate to insult another elected official. I think you are completely misguided."
"We are trying to look out for the entire region when we talk about this River Crossing and you guys have gone behind our backs. You voted on a rezoning (12/23 rezoning blocked the shortest route) and now you are doing this Technology zone and you are trying to hide it and you're trying to force it under option A. That is absolutely what you are doing."

The Picture - Option A in yellow overlayed over the 2007 General Development plan of the Ward Parcel.
The dotted lines are the Resource Protection Area boundaries along the streams. Most of the Parcel is RPA.
Mr. Ward filed By-right infrastructure construction plans that will soon be approved. The blue outline will have a larger footprint for the overpass over Sandford Dr, which will create severe environmental damage to the stream that feeds the waterfall.
Stafford officials can't stop the site from being developed without having millions of dollars available to condemn the land.
If this parcel is Developed, the option A river crossing will be lost
Fredericksburg Officials are considering including Option A in their Comprehensive Plan Public Hearing tonight at the 7:30 PM on Tuesday the 25th, but that's not good news.
My conclusion is that River Crossing option A is forcing development on Land that is not suitable for development and the suitable land will be developed before the river crossing is built making option A Obsolete.

If you can't make it, please email the Mayor and City Council!
Please tell them River Crossing Option B-2 is the best option to include in their Comprehensive Plan!
