We are less than 100 supporters away from reaching our goal of 500 signatures! Can you believe it?! I believe in the chicken supporters of Edgewater, Florida--that's for sure! Can you help us reach our goal of 500 signatures? Here's what you can do:
1. Share this petition on Facebook, Twitter, via e-mail, wherever you can. Sharing is caring, after all.
2. Send an e-mail, make a phone call, or send a letter via snail mail to Edgewater Mayor Michael Ignasiak and the 4 City Council-persons voicing your support for our cause.
3. Plan on attending the city council meeting to show your support(I'll let you know when).
4. Educate others about the benefits of keeping backyard chickens and help to dispel some of the myths.
There are many people on social media who are saying that the city ordinances will never change to allow backyard chickens within city limits. Here's my response to those individuals:
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not. ~ The Lorax
The city of Port Orange is undergoing chicken-change as well! A quick google search led me to this article(http://www.news-journalonline.com/…/port-orange-reveals-pro…) and also the application for a temporary urban chicken permit! Keep on cluckin', Port Orange!
