At the September 21 Council meeting, another group presented a petition concerning detention centers. Councilmember Hemmings said residents’ participation “truly matters” and “makes a total difference.” She also said that when residents bring forward clear demands, Council responds. We are asking Council to respond to our petition in the same way.

Every East Point resident deserves answers about how taxpayers’ funds are handled. Our petition asks the Mayor and City Council to request an independent GBI investigation into the misuse of taxpayers’ funds involving City Manager Redmond Jones.
