Petition presented to Ealing Council

Last night I had an opportunity to present the petition at the bi-monthly full Council meeting of Ealing Council in front of Ealing's mayor and the full assembly of Councillors. There was a further petition presented that same evening concerning the exact same issue of fly-tipping, from residents in the Ealing Common area, as well as specific questions asked of Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, who is in charge of the Council's refuse policy. Councillor Mahfouz responded, citing overall improvements in rubbish collection in the borough since the introduction of "containerisation" (i.e.: wheelie bins). It was clear that the current solution for residents in flats was not satisfactory, and I had the opportunity to rebut by insisting that consultation take place in order to find a sustainable solution. The petition has reached 205 signatures - well done!!! - and I will now close it. Many thanks to everybody for your support!!!
